A combined Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Neural Network (NN) was simulated for optimal load flow analysis. Genetic Algorithm is the computation algorithm for optimization problem that was inspirated by evolution theory to find the solution of the problem.There are many varians of Genetic Algorithm, one of them is Genetic Algorihtm for combination of optimization problem, i.e. to find the optimal solution value of the problem that has many alternative solutions. In this paper Genetic Algorithm was used in optimal load flow analysis i.e. in optimization generation cost of the combination of the 30 bus IEEE system generation unit. The generated of minimum and maximun reactive power of the system was determined from the active power input of the system by Neural Network. The simulation resulted by MATLAB show that the combined Genetic Algorithm and Neural Network has succeeded to minimize the total fuel cost compared with the Lagrange Multiplier method.
