This
research aims to reveal the influences of work load and work con-flict on the workplace stress among non-permanent junior high school
teachers in Bengkayang District of West Kalimantan Province in 2015. This was a case-study
research. Variables involved variable X (work load and work conflict), variable Y (workplace stress). Subjects consisted of 48 non-per-manent junior high school teachers in Bengkayang District of West Kalimantan Province.
Research instruments were questionnaires that were developed through planning,
item writing, editing, and item quality test using validity test and instru-ment reliability. Data were
gathered through the use of observation. The Likert scale was adopted as
measurement instrument; the primary data were used in this research. Data for
hypothesis testing were regression analysis technique. The research concluded that in the first
hypothesis it was showed that the ttable of work
load=13.720>ttable=2.009; hence, work load provided positive and
signi-ficant impacts on non-permanent teachers’ workplace
stress. In the second hypo-thesis, the ttest of work conflict
variable=2.993>ttable=2.009; therefore, work conflict provided positive and significant impacts on non-permanent teachers’ workplace stress. In the third
hypotesis it was indicated that Ftest=148.121->Ftable=2,812 and p=0.000<0,05.
Hence, Ftest>Ftable dan p<0.05; therefore, the load work and work conflict, collectively provided
positive and significant impacts on workplace stress, and the
contribution of both independent variables on dependent variable was 86.8%.
