This study aims to measure the difference, and to see the role of partograf training in the competence (knowledge and skills) of D3 midwifery students in partograph use. The quasi-experimental method was conducted in 2 days. Subjects were 5th semester students in Sari Mulia Midwifery Academy Banjarmasin. The total sample size was 64, 32 people were in intervention group and the rest were in controlled group. Data were analyzed by t test, Mann Whitney and logistic regression. There was significant difference of knowledge and skill the twp groups of partograf training in the competence (knowledge and skills) (< 0,05:0,001), it was significant between the knowledge and skills in the inter-vention group (15,4%:66,1%) than in the controlled group (3,6%:7,7%). There was more over good influence of partograph to the knowledge with values(p=0.003; RR=4.88), and the skill (p=0.016; RR=3,71). The role of partograph training in partograf use on knowledge variables can increase knowledge 4.88 times higher if being compared with no intervention and able to increase the skills 3.71 times higher than no intervention.
