Understanding of the substance of the reading is at the level of literal, inferential, or evaluation. Reading text object can be shaped as description, exposition, argumentation, persuasion, or narrative. To understand in depth reading is required reading in the form of essay questions, multiple choice, cloze tests, short context, technique, recall taks, and make a summary. Reading questions can form a closed question, open question, question confirmatory, exploratory questions, or investi- gative inquiries. The question that must be made (1) a brief and clear, (2) inspiring answers, (3) focus, (4) is probing or diverging, (5) validatif or reinforcement, (6) provide an opportunity to re-think, (7) stimulates increased cognitive abilities, and (8) stimulates the interaction process. Thus the question may serve functions, namely: (1) Generating curiosity and interest in the topic of learning, (2) Encourage active learning and self-development, (3) Diagnosing the difficulty of learning and give the design of solution, (4) Structuring tasks and allow the attitudes, skills, and under- standing of the substance of learning, (5) Generating speaking skills, ask, and asking logically, systematically with good language and correct; (6) Pushing to discuss, argue, develop the ability of thinking, and draw conclusions; (7) Develop an attitude of openness and mutual giving and receiving opinions, ideas; (8) enriching vocabulary, and social tolerance development; (9) Familiarize think spontaneously and quickly, and swiftly in response to emerging issues; and (10) Exercising politeness of speech and the ability to empathize with one another. There are a number of verbs that can be combined with question words to use in revealing the learning objectives in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor.
