Certificate is a valuable letter stating proof of ownership towards an object (land/buildings). Certificate has a valid legal power in the eyes of the state. With the certificate, the person has no need to feel worried his object will be claimed by another party. In other words, the security of their property will be guaranteed. The problem in this study is still lacking many people who do not even have a certificate. Due to ignorance or lack of understanding of how the mechanism of making the certificate. Thus the purpose of this research is the research goal is to determine how the mechanism of obtaining a certificate of land and/or buildings. The method used in this study is library research and field interconnected then described and explained in precise accordance with the actual situation. The results showed that many people do not make the certificate public ignorance about the mechanism of making the certificate in accordance with the procedure and because, according to most of the people that make the certificate requires a long time and costs are relatively large. The recommendations can be proposed from the results of this study were: (1) the Government in this case the relevant agencies to disseminate to the public on a regular basis to the public; (2) To the public, if it would make the certificate look for accurate information about how the procedure of making the certificate and before the making of an application to register the file to the certificate should be all the data that is required in the mechanism of making the certificate must be completed in advance to anticipate a wide range of problems that might occur.
