Currently achieving exclusive breastfeeding is still far from predetermined targets, where Puskesmas Gadang Hanyar Banjarmasin has not reached the target exclusive breastfeeding is the year 2011 amounted to 18,97% coverage (target 67%), the year of 2012 coverage of 45,61% (target 70%), and in 2013 coverage of 54,55%(target 75%). This is due to many factors that influence exclusive breastfeeding one of which is education, employment status, and socio-cultural of the mother. The objective of this study are to analyze the factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding in infants at Puskesmas Gadang Hanyar Banjarmasin.
In this study the research methods used were analytical survey method through cross sectional study with accidental sampling technique. The Results Analysis kolmogorov smirnov test (p = 0,273 > α = 0,05) no significant relationship between education and exclusive breastfeeding in Puskesmas Gadang Hanyar Banjarmasin, analysis of the chi square test (p = 0,025 < α 0,05) there is a significant relationship between employment status with exclusive breastfeeding in Puskesmas Gadang Hanyar Banjarmasin, and analysis of the chi square test (p = 0,000 <α 0,05) there is a significant relationship between the socio-cultural with exclusive breastfeeding in Puskesmas Gadang Hanyar Banjarmasin.
Conclusion :More exclusive breastfeeding mothers are not given for 0-6 months due to low maternal education, employment status, and socio-cultural that they believed the mother and family.
