Alternative substitution of synthetic refrigerant is hydrocarbon refrigerant (HC), because it has some benefit than others, which is the value of COP (coeffcient of performance) has higher level of synthetic refrigerant which is used in the present day. The ideal cycle and actual represent is the matter which need to be noticed in thermodynamics analysis, to give the accurate data for the consumer of refrigeration system. This research is conducted in Refrigeration System Laboratory of Industrial Faculty Technology at Balikpapan University by using appliance test. It is AC Split with the power 1 HP, which is this appliance has been modified by putting the control appliance addition. The mean ideal value of COP cycle in the condition of steady state until 25 minutes of operation uses hydrocarbon refrigerant of MC-22 equal to 3.70, while R-22 equal to 3.48. Meantime, actual cycle value of COP mean at the condition of steady state until 25 minutes operation uses hydrocarbon refrigerant of MC-22 equal to 2.64 and R-22 equal to 2.45.
