Corn is the second important food commodity after rice and can be cultured in South Kalimantan because it is supported by the existing natural resource, but there are many obstacles to culture it such as the low fertility of the soil. In order to reduce the use of synthetic fertilizer (nitrogen) it can be used green manures from leaves of gamal, lamtoro gung and Mucuna bracteata as the alternative fertilizers providing organic substances and nutrient elements. The aims of this research were to know the effects of some kinds of green manures, the effect of nitrogen doses in the kinds of green manures and the kinds of green manures and nitrogen doses in the optimum kinds of green manures on the growth of sweet corn. These experiments were conducted in the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty of UNLAM by using Group Random Design with nested design consisting of two factors repeating three. The first factors were kinds of green manure of three levels namely gamal (h1), lamtoro gung (h2) and Mucuna bracteata (h3). The second factor was nitrogen doses (N) nested in kinds of green manures consisting of five levels of doses, namely 69 kg N ha-1 (n1), 92 kg N ha-1 (n2), 115 kg N ha-1 (n3), 138 kg N ha-1 (n4), and 161 kg N ha-1 (n5). There was also one control treatment namely the recommended doses of inorganic fertilizer (Urea) 115 kg N. Therefore, there were 15 combination treatments plus one control treatment (15 + 1). Each treatment was repeated three times with the results that there were 48 experimental units. The research result showed that the giving of nitrogen doses in kinds of green manures gave effects on the growth component of sweet corn, the giving of nitrogen doses in to kinds of green manures showed positive linier relationship on the growth component of sweet corn.
