This research is aimed at studying the biological aspects of the Lais Bantut, regarding its food behaviors, and interrelationship of its length and its weight, in danau Dapur area, Bukit Batu district, Palangka Raya city. This information could be very useful for the management of fish resources, especially “Lais Bantut” (Ompok hypophthalmus).
The result of the study showed that Lais Bantut was classified as carnivore with the main food were any types of adult insects. To get its food, Lais Bantut made use all of the available food sources, such as adult insects falling down from the trees within the Danau Dapur. The interrelationship weight and length of Lais Bantut captured in Danau Dapur, showed the strong interrelationship in the second sampling. This can be concluded the Lais Bantut was fat.
