Research objectives are: (1) to optimize the use of pile foundation according to material, form and method of implementation in terms of cost, and (2) to conduct a design review on the dimensions of the pile foundation. The research was conducted for three months on building construction projects of Faculty of Fisheries, Mulawarman University. Research activities undertaken include: (1) field observations, (2) administrative procedure, (3) preparation, (4) data collection, (5) data analysis, and (6) reports writing. The results showed that: (1) the type of pile foundation rectangular and triangular types are safe to use in building construction of Faculty of Fisheries, Mulawarman Samarinda, (2) the calculation of license bearing one pole, rectangular pile foundation has greater carrying capacity than the triangle pile foundation, (3) in terms of economic, planning pile can be reviewed its design using triangular shape with sides 32 cm with concrete quality K-500 with pile system using the Drop Hammer drilling machine, (4) in terms of technical aspect, triangle shape is more practical and efficient, and (5) in the calculation of technical and economic value the use of pile in the construction project of the Faculty of Fisheries, Mulawarman Samarinda, the cross section design is thus necessary to be reviewed.
