This study describes the occurrence of breast swelling because breastfeeding is not continuous, so the rest of milk collected in the duct area, which occurred in the third or fourth day after delivery. This research is to find out how the breast swelling during lactation, and to know how to care for breastfeeding mothers breasts, in the maternity hospitals Ade Mohammad Djoen Sintang 2012. Using qualitative research methods with descriptive case study (case study), which means focusing intensely on a single object to be studied as a case. The subjects were breastfeeding mothers who have problems breast swelling. This study concluded that the patient had breast swelling caused during the four days of no spending postpartum milk from the baby's sucking optimally, thus making the patient's breast milk to swell because of the buildup and blockage in the ducts lactiferus at the end of the nipple. This study suggested to the mother after delivery to: a) breastfeed exclusively and on demand, with the correct attachment. b) conduct regular breast care.
